NSCAA Seeks Best Writing

With continued interest in soccer, there has been increased coverage of the sport and the NSCAA seeks to recognize the best writers who chronicle soccer's personalities, problems, games and growth. Any story published after Dec. 3, 2001, will be eligible for the contest. Submissions must be postmarked by Dec. 3, 2002. Winners will be awarded plaques and will be recognized at the 56th Annual NSCAA Convention, Jan. 15-19 in Kansas City, Mo. The work of any accredited writer for a daily or weekly newspaper or weekly or monthly magazine will be considered. Freelance writers who are published in newspapers or magazines can submit articles on their own. Stories must be published for consideration. The categories are: 1) Deadline/Game Stories: this includes newspaper or magazine game stories and breaking news such as a new coach being hired; 2) Feature Stories; 3) Column; 4) College - either a college article or article written by a college journalist. Each writer may only submit two articles per category. To download an entry form, please visit www.NSCAA.com.
