Norwich Adds Dave Caspole to Staff
NORTHFIELD, VT - Norwich University has named Dave Caspole sports information director. Caspole replaces Casey Hager, who resigned to take a similar position at Vassar College. Caspole will begin his duties promoting the Cadets' 16-sport athletic program immediately.
Caspole has seven years professional experience in collegiate sports information, with stints at Hartwick College, Saint Michael's College and Rochester Institute of Technology.
While working with a wide variety of sports at those institutions, Caspole has extensive experienced with collegiate ice hockey. He served as the host SID for the 1999 NCAA Division II Ice Hockey Championship Series while at Saint Michael's, and was the host SID for the 2001 NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Frozen Four while working at Rochester Institute of Technology.
He has also promoted athletes at the NCAA Division I, II and III levels. He has worked with NCAA playoff teams in men's and women's lacrosse, men's soccer, men's and women's basketball, softball and field hockey.
Caspole has successfully placed stories from those institutions in Sports Illustrated, USA Today, the Boston Globe, and the New York Post, as well as on ESPN, NESN and the Empire Sports Network.
Caspole, 32, is a 1994 graduate of Westfield State (Mass.) College and a native of Gardiner, Maine. He has worked with a variety of events outside of the college market, most notably serving as a press steward at the 1996 Olympic Games tennis venue in Atlanta. He has also worked with events for US Soccer and the National Soccer Hall of Fame, the Empire State Games, and the Rochester Rattlers of the National Lacrosse League.
