SIDs Top Nomination Total
The number of nominations SIDs made for the Verizon Academic All-America Hall of Fame® increased nearly 10 percent from last year’s record 154 nominations to 167 nominations.
The voting process is already underway as the Academic All-America Committee and the Board of Directors have selected the “Top 25 Finalists” and we are currently preparing for the Hall of Fame Selection call in the next two weeks. The Class of 2003 will be inducted at the 16th annual Hall of Fame in Cleveland on Saturday, June 28, 2003, one day prior to the kick-off of the convention.
The record number of nominations can be directly related to the SIDs who take the time to research and nominate deserving individuals.
Also, the number of honorary nominations increased by four to 11 honorary nominees. One honorary nominee will be selected to join the Class of 2003.
"We are extremely encouraged that the nominations keep increasing for the Hall of Fame,” said Academic All-America Committee Chair Dick Lipe. “We are looking forward to bringing the Hall of Fame to Cleveland so the whole CoSIDA membership will have a chance to experience the induction ceremony.”
The “Top 25 Finalists” will be announced in March/April 2003.
