CoSIDA Officer Conference Call

All Officers on call, along with Jeff Rubin of ICS and Kevin Ruple of Baldwin-Wallace (Cleveland Host Committee) I. Third Vice President Joe Hernandez (Ball State) said conference calls were scheduled for April 23 and 30 to finalize selections for the CoSIDA Awards. He said he would provide information on award winners for the Digest as soon as the selections were made. II. President Alan Cannon (Texas A&M) said he had spoken with Katie Hyde at Millsport about several topics, including the Academic All-America program, a possible book drive at the CoSIDA Convention and a possible brunch at the workshop. III. Director of On-Line Services Maxey Parrish (Waco, Texas) said the job listings and information had increased on the website and said he was posting workshop information as soon as he receives it. He said his email had been overwhelmed by the first test emailing to CoSIDA members about updating the online directory. IV. First Vice President Tammy Boclair (Vanderbilt) said she had a conference call with the Cleveland host committee on Thursday and would be finalizing panelists and schedules for the convention. She reviewed current plans and schedules and options still available. V. Second Vice President Rod Commons (Washington State) said most of the breakfast sponsors were lined up for Cleveland but said there were a few remaining. He said he was also beginning to collect door prizes. VI. Director of Marketing Ed Carpenter (Boston Univ.) said he was still talking to a couple of potential additional sponsors. He said He had also talked to Multi-Ad to let them know that Rich Rosenthal would be in touch with them about printing an updated version of the - Sports Information, A Career in Intercollegiate Athletics - brochure. VII. Treasurer Dave Wohlhueter (Ithaca, N.Y.) said he was collecting items for the convention goody bags and encouraged anyone that knew of someone with items to donate to begin getting those to him or let him know what to expect. VIII. Cannon said he would be asking all committee chairs to submit reports to him by June 1. IX. Jeff Rubin (ICS) discussed the CoSIDA online directory and ways it can be used and options for updating information and converting that information into the printed directory, There was no other old or new business and the call adjourned.
