CoSIDA Conference Call

I. President Alan Cannon (Texas A&M) said that Past President Pete Moore (Syracuse) had been in contact with Millsport to get an update on Academic All-America sponsorship and was awaiting further details. It was requestedby the Board that Katie Hyde of Millsport meet with the Board as early as possible at the Cleveland Workshop - on either Saturday or Sunday. II. Cannon said that additional paperwork needed to be filed by June 15 for the CoSIDA Basketball Classic to receive exempt status. Cannon said he would contact the necessary parties to make sure it is submitted. III. First Vice President Tammy Boclair (Vanderbilt) reviewed the Workshop schedule and had previously circulated to the Board a schedule and room assignments. IV. Second Vice President Rod Commons (Washington State) reviewed the Social schedule. He said a few things are still in the works but the majority of the schedule and sponsorship are nailed down. He said he was also working on getting the various signs needed for the convention and t-shirts for the softball competition. V. Third Vice President Joe Hernandez (Ball State) said all award winners have been determined, have been contacted and releases have been sent to the website and the Digest. He said he had also been in contact with Jostens about the awards. VI. Treasurer Dave Wohlhueter (Ithaca, N.Y.) said pre-registrations were coming in and he was in contact with the hotel about room reservations. VII. Secretary Jeff Hodges (North Alabama) said the June Digest was in the mail and the Convention issue (July) would be in the mail by the first week of June. VIII. Director of Marketing Ed Carpenter (Boston University) said banners were ordered and he reviewed updates on convention sponsorship and activities - including the NBA/WNBA Party. He also presented a new contract offer from Multi-Ad to continue to print CoSIDA publications. he said Multi-Ad would like to meet with the Board in Cleveland to review the proposal. IX. Director of On-Line Services Maxey Parrish (Waco, Texas) said he had posted all convention information he had received and was staggering the posting of the CoSIDA Award Winners. He said traffic and postings on the job site had been heavy. There was no other old or new business and the call adjourned.
