IPFW Athletics has named Rudy Yovich as sports information Director. Yovich will begin his duties on July 30. A native of Midland, Penn., Yovich recently served as SID for Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tenn. He previously directed marketing and promotions for the Erie Otters Hockey Club of the OHL. Yovich also worked as a sports anchor for WSEE-TV (CBS) in Erie. He holds a bachelor's in communications from Edinboro University. “Rudy’s unique background and experience will make him a real asset to the media and to IPFW Athletics,” said Rick Granger, director of marketing and chair of the search committee. “His prior employment as a sports journalist at WSEE-TV will help him to provide accurate and detailed information to our media outlets on a time-sensitive basis.” As IPFW’s SID, Yovich will be responsible for all sports media relations, publications, game-day statistic and logistics, statistical archives and special projects.
