Todd Named SID at Bates
LEWISTON, Maine - Bates College has hired Aaron Todd as the college’s new
sports information director.
Todd is from Canton, N.Y., and most recently served as the interim
assistant director for athletic media relations at St. Lawrence
University. He received his bachelor's degree cum laude at St.
Lawrence in 2000, graduating with honors in English writing. He expects to
complete a master's in educational administration at St. Lawrence in
August.
He was also a member of the varsity cross country and track and
field teams for the Saints.
Todd, who began his duties at Bates on June 23rd, has worked in the
sports media field for several years, gaining experience as a sports
writer for The Watertown Daily Times during his time as an undergraduate.
While at St. Lawrence, he worked with several of the nation's top
collegiate teams.
Todd served as the host SID for the NCAA Division III
men's soccer championship last fall, and worked with the women's
basketball team, the Division III national runner-up in 2002. Most
recently, he worked with St. Lawrence's nationally ranked Division I
women's hockey team.
Todd has a proven track record of maintaining a dynamic and up-to-date Web
site at St. Lawrence, and writing compelling feature stories about St.
Lawrence student-athletes and coaches.
Todd replaces Adam Levin, who left Bates last summer to serve as the
sports information director at Brandeis, his alma mater, and interim SID
John Jordan, who has filled in for Levin since September of 2002.
