College Sports Information Directors of America

Tarleton State University Vice President for Institutional Advancement Dr. Koy Floyd has announced the appointment of Joseph Roberts as sports information director at the university. Roberts has been serving in a similar capacity at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri where he was in charge of the sports information and public and media relations for 16 sports. “I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with Joey,” said Dr. Floyd. “He has served the last three years in a competitive conference and has excelled in the sports information and media relations areas.” Roberts replaced Stan Wagnon who accepted the position of media relations director for the Lone Star Conference. Originally from Olney, Texas, Roberts earned the Bachelors and Masters degrees from Abilene Christian University. He worked with ACU alongside the sports information director and served as yearbook sports editor and marketing director. Tarleton Athletic Director Lonn Reisman said “I am very impressed with Roberts’ work ethic. He will be an exceptional sports information director and a tremendous asset to Tarleton.” Roberts began work at Tarleton on Monday, August 11.
