Greenberg Named at Chicago State
Ben Greenberg has been named sports
information director at Chicago State, Athletics Director Al
Avant announced.
Greenberg, who comes to Chicago State after serving the past 10
months as a media relations assistant at Texas State University (formerly
Southwest Texas State) in San Marcos, Texas, replaces Mark Johnson, who
resigned his position with CSU on June 16.
"Ben Greenberg will make a fine addition to our athletic department
staff," Avant said. "He is dedicated, focused and has a lot of experience in
helping our department change the way things are done."
Greenberg's is in charge of promoting and producing all the materials for all of CSU's 14 varsity
athletic teams and updating the athletic department's website on a daily
basis.
"He has a tremendous enthusiasm for the job and I'm looking forward
to having him here at Chicago State," Avant said.
Prior to CSU and Texas State, Greenberg served as a sports
information graduate assistant at Delta State University in Cleveland,
Mississippi. The 1995 journalism graduate from the University of
Nebraska-Lincoln is currently completing the requirements for his master's
degree in Athletic Administration from the University of Nebraska.
"I'm really looking forward to the challenge here at CSU," Greenberg said.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for me and I'm glad CSU and Mr. Avant have
put their faith in me being able to get the job done here."
The 31-year-old native of Omaha, Nebraska, will reside in the
Chicago area.
