GSC Names Andrzejewski Ass't SID
Birmingham, AL—The Gulf South Conference announced the hiring of Tim Andrzejewski as its new assistant sports information director.
Andrzejewski comes to the GSC from the Southeastern Conference where he recently served as the full-time media relations intern. While at the SEC, Andrzejewski served as the primary contact for cross country, gymnastics, track and field and softball. He also helped with the organization of the 2002 SEC Football and Basketball Media Days as well as the 2002 SEC Football Championship.
Before his stint with the SEC, Andrzejewski served as a student assistant for the University of Alabama Sports Information Department. There he was the primary contact for men’s tennis and was a member of the organizational staff for the 2001 SEC Swimming Championships and the 2002 NCAA Gymnastics Championships.
The Buffalo, N.Y., native gained his first sports related experience during the summer months from 1998-2002 when he served as a marketing intern for the Buffalo Bisons, the Cleveland Indians Triple-A affiliate.
Andrzejewski graduated from the University of Alabama in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in marketing.
"We are very happy to have Tim join the GSC," said Sports Information Director Michael Anderson. "We had a large number of impressive candidates, but Tim’s previous Conference experience and his strong technical skills pushed him to the top."
Andrzejewski will serve as GSC's primary contact for volleyball, men’s soccer, women’s basketball, softball and men’s and women’s tennis. He fills the vacant position left by former assistant Stacey Mickles.
