Conference USA has promoted four staff members and hired one, Commissioner Britton Banowsky announced. Those promoted include: Brenda Weare to deputy commissioner, Russell Anderson to assistant commissioner for media relations, Brad Stricklin to assistant commissioner for financial operations, and Kyeshia Brakes to assistant director of sports services. Meg Ward has joined the staff as assistant director of media relations and marketing. Weare, who has been an associate commissioner since C-USA's formation in 1995, served as interim commissioner last year and was an assistant commissioner of the Great Midwest Conference from 1991-95. She'll be responsible for office operations and sports services. Anderson, who has served as director of media relations since 1998, will oversee media operations for all men's and women's sports; while Stricklin, who has been business manager since 1999, will assume responsibility for all financial operations. Brakes, who served as championship and marketing assistant last year, will aid in the operation of all C-USA championships, while Ward, who was a graduate intern at DePaul last year, will assist in media operations and marketing.
