Board Conference Call Minutes

(Full Board  Call)


I. President Tammy Boclair  (Vanderbilt) reviewed possible dates for
the Academic All-America Hall of Fame inductions. There was also
discussion on several particulars of the event, including possible
costs to CoSIDA and CoSIDA attendees.


II. There was discussion about possibly bringing back the CoSIDA Past
Presidents Dinner in Calgary but no action was taken.


III. Boclair discussed possible dates for the CoSIDA Mid-Winter call.


IV. College Division Representative Dennis O?Donnell (Rochester)
discussed putting together a media directory to include all local and
national media across the country and provide it to CoSIDA members at a
reasonable cost. It was discussed as a possible project that could
involve several CoSIDA committees.


V. First Vice President Rod Commons (Washington State) said work on the
basic outline for the workshop was continuing. He said he would
complete that outline and provide it to the board and have it to post
on the website and publish in the March Digest.


VI. Second Vice President Joe Hernandez (Ball State) said he had been
in contact with Jack Neumann and had received a lot of ideas and
information on Workshop Socials. He said several things were already
confirmed and he said he was setting up  a conference call with the
local host committee to begin finalizing other things.


VII. Third Vice President Doug Dull (Maryland) said forms for CoSIDA
awards were in the February Digest and were posted on the website.
Deadlines for the 2004 awards is set for March 19.


VIII. Treasurer Dave Wohlhueter (Ithaca, N.Y.) said the hotel
registration form for Calgary was on-line and available for members to
begin making reservations.


IX. Secretary Jeff Hodges (North Alabama) said the February Digest was
due back from Multi-Ad at any time and he was collecting items for the
March Digest.


X. Director of Marketing Ed Carpenter (Boston University) gave a brief
update on possible sponsorship for the Academic All-America program.


XI. College Division Representative Larry Happel (Central) reviewed a
list of suggestions that will be provided to the NCAA regarding its
championship publications.


XII. Under new business, Past President Fred Stabley, Jr. (Central
Michigan) reviewed the officer?s rotation, the regional alignment and
the nominating committee?s responsibilities for 2004.  The nominating
committee will be replacing College Division Representatives from the
Southeast and West, two At-Large representatives and finding a Third
Vice President from the Southeast.


 There was no other business and the call was adjourned.
