Woodworth to Step Down Following Year

Gordon Woodworth, the director of athletic communications
at the University of Vermont, will resign his position following the 2004-05
academic year to pursue other opportunities outside of college athletics,
Vermont Athletic Director Dr. Robert Corran announced.

Woodworth, 42, has spent the last 15 years in the Office of Athletic
Communications at UVM, the last six in the director¹s chair. During his
tenure at Vermont, Woodworth has handled media relations duties for several
UVM teams, but most recently he has been the primary contact for the UVM
men¹s hockey team.

"I have been considering the possibility of making a change for a couple of
years, and it became clear to me recently that the time was right. I have
been blessed with more than 15 wonderful years at UVM, and I cherish the
time that I have spent here. Most importantly, the friends I have gained
here have made the experience most worthwhile. I will miss UVM very much,"
stated Woodworth.

"Gordon has played an important role in the teams he has covered and in the
lives of our student-athletes. His passion for the University of Vermont
will be missed. UVM wishes Gordon the best in his future endeavors," said
Chris McCabe, assistant vice president for marketing and business
development.
