Kevin Beasley has been named assistant director of media relations at the University of South Alabama, Media Relations Director Matt Smith announced.
"We're pleased to move Kevin Beasley into the assistant director's role," said
Smith. "Kevin has served an integral role in our department the last few years
and is very deserving of the promotion."
Beasley, who received his master's degree in communications/public relations
from USA in 2003, spent the last two years in a graduate assistant role for the
Jaguar sports information office. The Montgomery, Ala., native worked with the
2003-04 Sun Belt Conference West Division champion Lady Jaguar basketball team
this past season and served as media contact for USA's men's and women's tennis
teams, which both advanced to the NCAA Tournament this spring.
He joined the USA staff in late 2001 as a volunteer and was named graduate assistant in July 2002.
A 1999 graduate of Auburn University, Beasley also served on the statistics crew
with the Mobile Seagulls and the Mobile Wizards prior to joining the USA SID
staff.
Beasley will continue to cover the Lady Jag basketball team and tennis programs,
while assisting with the Jaguar Athletic Department website.
