A memorial service for E. Doyle Smith, Jr., is scheduled for August 1 at Alumni Hall at the University of Virginia. Smith, a member of the UVa athletics media relations office staff for 31 years before his retirement in 1999 and a long-time lacrosse publicist, died on June 1 at the age of 60.
The service is scheduled for 2-5 p.m. Individuals are requested to send in or bring written anecdotes about Doyle. There will be an opportunity for individuals to tell stories or say a few words about Doyle during the service.
