Brandon Parro has been named associate sports information director at Marshall University, Assistant Atheltic Director for Media Relations Randy Burnside announces
Parro, 25, has served in the same position on an interim basis since last September.
“Brandon did an exceptional job as interim and is very deserving of the position,” Burnside said. “He’s proven himself to be a valuable asset to our office.”
A native of Hershey, Pa., Parro is entering his third year with the Marshall Sports Information office. He earned his bachelor's in communications media from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (2001) and a master's in athletic administration from Marshall (2004). Prior to Marshall he also served in the sports information office at the University of Pittsburgh.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to stay at Marshall University,” Parro said. “My previous two years have helped me grow professionally and I look forward to being able to continue to promote and cover the Thundering Herd.”
Parro serves as the primary contact for women’s basketball and will continue to assist the sports information staff in the publicity of Marshall’s 15 NCAA Division I programs. He will also help oversee a staff of four graduate assistants in the SID office.
