Baker Picked as Assistant SID at RMU

Ken Baker has been named assistant sports information director, Robert Morris University announced. Baker comes to Robert Morris after spending the previous year and one-half as the sports information director at Division III Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa.

While at Allegheny, Baker was the primary media contact for 21 varsity sports,
producing press releases, media guides, schedule cards and game programs while
assisting the Director of Athletics in securing sponsors for various
publications, tournaments and promotional events. Baker will serve as the
primary media contact for men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's
soccer, men's and women's lacrosse and men's and women's golf at Robert Morris.

Prior to Allegheny, Baker served as the associate director of athletic media
relations at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y., serving as the primary
media contact for women's ice hockey (Division I), football, baseball, men's and
women's tennis, men's and women's skiing, men's and women's squash and men's and
women's crew and riding. In 2000, St. Lawrence served as the host for the 2000
Division III NCAA Men's Soccer Regional and the 2001 New York State Women's
College Athletic Association Softball Tournament.

Baker got his start in the sports information field by serving an internship at
Niagara University in New York from September 1999 to May 2000, serving as the
primary media contact for men's soccer, baseball, women's basketball, women's
ice hockey, cross country and swimming and diving.

A 1999 graduate of Allegheny College with a bachelor of arts degree in
communication arts, Baker is a native of North Versailles, Pa. He is a member of
the Eastern College Athletic Conference Sports Information Directors of America
(ECAC-SIDA) and the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He
has been a member of the CoSIDA social committee since 2002.
