Rhode Island College named Ryan Griswold (South Windsor,
CT) as the athletic media relations intern for the 2004-05 academic year.
Griswold will assist Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations and
Promotions Scott Gibbons with all facets of the athletic media relations
department.
Griswold graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University in May of
2004 with a bachelor’s degree in communication with a focus in public
relations, and a minor in sports management.
Griswold comes to Rhode Island College with experience in both the worlds
of professional and collegiate athletics. Griswold was hired as an intern
in the public relations office of the Mohegan Wolves (arenafootball2) for
the 2003 season, where he assisted with everyday duties such as creating
and editing the organization’s media guide, program inserts, and updating
statistics.
He then went on to work as an assistant in the media relations
department of the Connecticut Sun of the WNBA during the 2003-04
off-season. Griswold’s most recent work tenure was as an assistant for the
Sports Information Department at Eastern Connecticut State University.
Griswold’s main duties at ECSU were to help create the baseball media
guide and maintain the squad’s statistics, among other tasks.
Griswold is a 2000 graduate of South Windsor High School He currently
resides in North Providence, Rhode Island.
