Wasiluk Recovering From Bypass Surgery

Virginia Wesleyan sports information director Joe Wasiluk is home and resting comfortably following quadruple bypass surgery last weekend.

After experiencing chest paints, Wasiluk went to a local hospital where doctors determined he did not suffer a heart attack.

Additional testing led to the quadruple bypass procedure.

Wasiluk returned home Monday where he is resting comfortably and adjusting to medications.  While he told Virginia Wesleyan administrators he hoped to return to the office in a couple weeks, many expect a longer recovery period.

A Virginia Beach, Va., resident, Wasiluk is in his third year at Virginia Wesleyan and coordinates the District 3 College Division Academic
All-America teams for volleyball, women's basketball and women's at-large.

He served as the sports information contact for the 2004 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship semifinals and finals in Norfolk/Virginia Beach.  Wasiluk previously worked at Kenyon College and graduated from the University of Cincinnati.

Joe's friends and acquaintances are welcome direct well wishes to him at home at:
