College Sports Information Directors of America

Rhode Island College added Mike Christie (Ocala, Fla.) to its
staff as the Little East Conference publicist and an assistant in the RIC
media relations department. Christie will handle all statistical reporting
duties for the Little East Conference while also assisting assistant
athletic director for media relations and promotions, Scott Gibbons, in
the athletic media relations department.

Christie graduated from the University of Florida in December 2002 with
a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports sciences with a focus in sport
management, and a minor in business administration.

Christie is in his second year at Rhode Island College, having completed
an internship in the athletic media relations department last year. Prior
to RIC, he completed another year-long internship in the athletic media
relations department at Providence College. At each college, Christie
gained extensive experience with all aspects of sports information
including publication development and game-day operation.

Christie is a 1998 graduate of Ocala Forest High School. He currently
resides in North Providence, Rhode Island.
