Southeastern Louisiana Promotes Sullivan
Southeastern Louisiana University's Matt Sullivan has been
promoted to associate media relations director announced Director of
Athletics Frank Pergolizzi.
Sullivan, who has been a member of the sports information staff at
Southeastern since 2000, served as assistant sports information
director for the past four years.
"Matt has been a tremendous asset to the program and the promotion is
well deserved," remarked Pergolizzi. "With the addition of football,
Matt¹s scope of responsibility changed and this new title reflects that
change as well as more adequately identifies his role in the
department."
Sullivan serves as the primary contact for men¹s basketball and as
contact for volleyball and baseball while assisting with football
duties, including coordination of the football Game Day magazine.
A 1994 graduate of Southeastern, Sullivan returned to Hammond after
spending two years at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala. While at
Samford, he handled day-to-day publicity for football, baseball and the
men¹s basketball team, which earned a berth in the 1999 and 2000 NCAA
Men¹s Basketball Championships.
Prior to his stint at Samford, Sullivan served as a graduate assistant
in the Southeastern SID office under Barry Niemeyer and also served as
a student intern under longtime SID Larry Hymel.
Sullivan resides in Slidell with his wife, Stephanie and son Matthew, age 5.
