Shane Herrmann, a former intern in the
University of North Alabama Sports Information Office, has been hired
as assistant sports information director at UNA.
Herrmann, a 1999 UNA graduate, worked in the Lions
sports information office as a student and later worked as the sports
editor of the Journal-Record newspaper in Hamilton.
Last year he served as a graduate assistant in the sports
information office at Jacksonville State University, handling soccer
and softball duties, in addition to assisting with football, volleyball
and the Gamecocks other sports.
At UNA, Herrmann will be the primary contact for women's
volleyball and softball and will also work extensively with both men
and women's basketball. He will also assist with all of the Lions other
intercollegiate sports as well as with all athletic publications,
website maintenance and with the daily operation of the office.
