Tod Meisner has been named to the position of SMU media relations
assistant for the 2004-05 athletic year. Meisner will be the primary contact for
swimming and diving and tennis. He began his duties at SMU on August 2.
Meisner comes to SMU from Illinois State University. He graduated in May 2004
with a bachelor's degree in mass communications and a minor in athletic coaching. At
ISU, Meisner served as SID for women’s golf during the 2003-04 campaign as a
student intern and also helped at various Redbird athletic events.
He was the media director for the 2003 Redbird Fall Classic and assisted with
primary media duties at the 2004 NCAA Women’s Central Golf Regional. Meisner
also worked with the ISU Recreation department for two years.
Prior to Illinois State, Meisner is a 2000 graduate of Lincolnwood High School
in Raymond, Illinois. He was born on November 10, 1981 and is the son of Mike
and Gail Meisner. He is single and currently resides in Dallas while working at
SMU.
