Trahan Joins Siena College Staff

Siena College recently hired Camelia Trahan as its sports information/marketing assistant. Trahan will be responsible for publicity for the college's 18 intercollegiate athletic programs. She will also assist in the development of promotions for women's basketball and oversee the management of various athletic events.

Trahan spent the previous year working for Rhodes College as the senior coordinator of sports information and director of marketing in the athletic department. Trahan's previous sports information experience includes three years as a sports writer at her alma mater, Southern University and A & M College. During her junior and senior years she worked in the sports information department before graduating with a bachelor's degree in journalism studies in 2001. She has a wealth of previous newspaper and television reporting experience.

"We are happy to have Camelia on board," Director of Athletics John D'Argenio said. "She has a great deal of sports information and marketing experience which will be useful as we move forward promoting and publicizing our athletic department."

Trahan is a member of CoSIDA, the National Association of Black Journalists, National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators and presently serves as the state coordinator of Tennessee for the Association for Women in Sports Media.

Trahan, a native of California, earned her masters degree at LSU in 2002.
