CoSIDA Board Minutes

I. President Rod Commons (Washington State)
conducted a roll call of board members.

II. Commons said the Scholarship Committee had asked
about the amount of money that would be awarded this
year. Treasurer Dave Wohlhueter (Ithaca, N.Y.) said
that $25,000 would be awarded - as approved by the
board during 2003-04.

III. Wohlhueter asked about increasing the rate
charged for posting jobs on the CoSIDA website. He
made a motion that it be increased from $50 to $65
for a posting. Seconded by At-Large Representative
Judy Willson (Sun Belt Conference) and passed
unanimously.

IV. First Vice President Joe Hernandez (Ball State)
gave a report from the committee looking at the
on-line Academic All-America voting proposals.  He

several questions. He said the committee would like
to conduct a conference call with each company.
Hernendez said he would proceed with setting up the
calls and report back to the board.

V. There was discussion about the 2005 Workshop in
Philadelphia. There was discussion that a keynote
speaker would need to be lined up early since it
would be July 4th. College Division Representative
Dennis O'Donnell (Rochester) said he would talk to
the Workshop Program Committee about the schedule
for the week. Director of Marketing Ed Carpenter
(Boston University) asked that the committee look at
moving the major CoSIDA awards to the Kickoff
Luncheon instead of the Wednesday night dinner, due
to poor attendance at the final dinner. It was also
suggested that a keynote speaker be used on July 5th
instead of the 4th. Hernandez said he would pass
along the suggestions to the Program Committee.

VI. Second Vice President Doug Dull (Maryland) said
he was in contact and working with the local
committee in Philadelphia on the Workshop Social
schedule.

VII. Carpenter said he had talked to ESPN
representatives and was ironing out the final

(Texas A&M) said they had talked to the hotel
property representatives in San Antonio and were
looking at changing the convention dates to June

per night. Willson made a motion to move the dates
from those originally proposed, seconded by
Wohlhueter and passed unanimously.

Academic All-America selections that had been
maintained by Millsport. He said it was being

Web site.
