Nick Brilowski has been named sports information director at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, athletics director Ken Bothof announced today. Brilowski replaces Brian Nicol, who has moved to a part-time position within the department.
"We are excited to have Nick join our staff," said Bothof. "His ties to the state of Wisconsin and his past experience in sports information make Nick an excellent fit for UW-Green Bay."
Brilowski will oversee media relations and communications for the 15-sport NCAA Division I Phoenix athletics program. He will also serve on the athletics department senior staff.
A Stevens Point, Wis., native, Brilowski comes to Green Bay following two years as an assistant in the University of Wisconsin-Madison athletics communications office. In addition to working with the nationally-ranked Badgers football team, Brilowski assisted with media relations for the men's basketball program and served as the primary contact for four other Badger teams. He was the media relations coordinator for the 2005 NCAA softball regional in Madison.
After graduating from UW-Stevens Point in 2002 with a degree in mass communication, Brilowski served for one year as a sports information assistant at Northwestern University. He managed volleyball, swimming and diving and softball sports information duties for the Wildcats.
