Streeter Enshrined in EMU Hall of Fame

In front of a crowd that featured administrators and current and former student athletes and coaches, seven individuals were inducted into the Eastern Michigan University Athletic Hall of Fame in the atrium of the Convocation Center on Saturday morning.

The group was part of the 29th class to be inducted to the Hall of Fame. The new group consists of Melissa (Drouillard) Bater, Roxanne (Munch) Bronkema, Roger Coryell, Mark Dailey, Earl Dixon, Mireille Sankatsing-Smith and Jim Streeter. The individuals were selected by the E-Club, which consists of former EMU letter winners.

Streeter, who has worked in the sports information department for 31 years, has won many awards for different publications, including the 2001 football media guide, which was selected the best in the MAC. For two years of his undergraduate work, he was the sports editor of the Eastern Echo and followed that up by becoming a sports writer at the Ypsilanti Press, where he covered Eastern athletics.

Streeter thanked Eastern for letting him be a part of the school’s tradition and also gave credit to his student staff, which he believes is among the best.
