John Dodderidge, former director of communications for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, has been named sports information director at Rockhurst University. Dodderidge will be responsible for the publicity of the 11 men's and women's sports for the Hawks, who will leave the Heartland Conference and become a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference in August.
Dodderidge was editor of FCA's national magazine, Sharing the Victory, for nine years, in addition to handling media relations duties for the largest sports ministry in the United States, headquartered in Kansas City, Mo.
From 1986 to 1990, Dodderidge was sports editor of the Kansas City Kansan. He served as sports editor of the Richardson (Texas) Daily News, and was a sports writer for the Valley Morning Star in Harlingen, Texas, and the Manhattan (Kan.) Mercury. Dodderidge has also been a staff writer for Courtside, the official publication of the National Association of Basketball Coaches, and Powercat Illustrated.
Dodderidge received his bachelor's degree in journalism from Kansas State University in 1980.
