Big 12's Bo Carter Noted for Excellence

I want to commend Bo Carter, Sports Information
Director/Historian for doing an outstanding job with the Big 12 Conference
in Dallas, Texas.

Bo is a longtime member of CoSida. He has donated his services to your
fine organization for years.

Previously Bo worked at the Old Southwest Conference and at Mississippi
State University.

I have known Bo for over 35 years. He is always there to assist the media
and anyone else who may have a request or a problem. He is one of the
first ones in and last one to leave work daily.

I helped him with the 2001 Dr Pepper/Big 12 Conference Football
Championship in Irving, Texas. Following the game I left the press box around
3 a.m. and he left the press box at 7a.m. Sunday morning. Others were long
gone. You will need to go long and far to find someone to match his work
ethic.

I know something about sports information directors or the 2005
politically correct title athletic media relations directors. I worked in
the sports information office at Memphis State University (now the
University of Memphis) from 1969-1973.

I think the time is now that Bo should be recognized for his dedication
and outstanding work.

Bo Carter is a class act.

Sincerely,
Jim Brown
