Media guide legislation on Division I Management Council agenda
The long-drawn out legislative process concerning the printing of media
guides/recruiting brochures at the NCAA Division I level is finally going to
come to a close in April.
Proposal 2003-32 Recruiting - Printed Recruiting Materials, which was first
proposed as the elimination of media guides as a recruiting tool in 2003, has
been modified into two forms. 2003-32-1 proposes a page limitation of 208 pages,
while 2003-32-2 offers a page limitation of 240 pages. Institutions would still
be able to print media guides/recruits brochures and send them to recruits.
The CoSIDA University membership is encouraged to contact their respective
conference with their feelings one way or the other about these two proposals.
The feeling is that one of these will pass.
Following the second reading of the proposals at the Management Council meeting
on April 11-12, the proposals will get an up or down vote by the Board of
Directors on April 28.
