Big South Promotes Four, Restructures Office

The Big South Conference has promoted Dawn Turner, Marcia Hollingsworth, Chad Cook, and Lauren Cooper, it was announced today by Conference Commissioner Kyle B. Kallander, who also announced a restructuring of responsibilities.
“I am pleased and grateful that the Big South membership has agreed to promote these deserving individuals,” said Kallander.  “They have all worked extremely hard and are a big reason why the Conference has had its most successful year ever.”
Turner was promoted to associate commissioner, having served as assistant commissioner the past three years.  She will continue to oversee the Big South’s compliance operations in addition to having greater responsibilities with conference championships.
Hollingsworth has been promoted to director of operations, where she will continue in her role as special events coordinator and game officials liaison, as well as handling the day-to-day business operation of the conference.   She had served the past seven years as office manager of the Big South.
Cook has been elevated to assistant director of marketing, where he will take on greater responsibility in the generation of revenue for the Conference.  He had served in a dual role as assistant director of marketing and championships, mainly concentrating on League championships as tournament manager for basketball, men’s soccer, cross country and track and field.  Cook will continue in his role with the running sports.
Cooper moves into a new role as coordinator of creative services, where she will be responsible for the League’s new Web site, video streaming and all publications.  In addition, she will serve as the administrative liaison for several League sports and championships.  She served as assistant director of public relations since joining the conference in January 2004.
