John Jay College of Criminal Justice Department of Athletics has named Michael Damon sports information director.
Damon, a Long Island City native, will be responsible for promoting and publicizing the 13 intercollegiate teams sponsored by John Jay College: men’s soccer, women’s soccer, men’s cross country, women’s cross country, women’s volleyball, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, women’s swimming, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, co-ed rifle, baseball, and softball.
Damon, a 2002 graduate of SUNY Cortland, is no stranger to John Jay College after having assisted in its sports information office during the 2004-05 men’s and women’s basketball season.
“We are very delighted to have Michael with us,” said John Jay director of athletics Susan Larkin. “He brings an energy to the position and a passion for the industry.”
In addition to his experience with John Jay College, Damon has served as sports information director with Keuka College during the 2002-03 season, and was a student assistant while at SUNY Cortland.
