Brittaney Miller Moving to Embry-Riddle
Brittaney Miller will join the Embry-Riddle Sports Information Office as sports information assistant for the 2005-2006 Eagle athletic season, director Jamie Joss, announced.
Miller will be working with women’s soccer, men’s and women’s track and cross country, men’s and women’s tennis, in addition to assisting Joss and assistant SID Alison Smalling.
"Our No. 1 concern for all of our staff members is to get someone who will fit into our athletic program. The search committee all believed Brittaney's personality, infectious enthusiasm, sports information background and being a former student-athlete were a perfect fit for Embry-Riddle," Joss said. "We are all excited about working with Brittaney this year and helping take her sports information skills to the next level."
Miller is no stranger to the world of collegiate athletics and the NAIA. Prior to her arrival, she enjoyed a successful basketball-playing career at Tri-State University located in Angola, Indiana. While playing for the Thunder, her team spent three years in the NAIA where the team captain helped TSU to a Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference title in 2003. Miller also has knowledge of the NCAA playing her senior year under the NCAA provisionary period as Tri-State transitioned to Division III level.
Along with basketball, Miller also assumed many other roles at Tri-State including serving four years as student sports information assistant working with football, volleyball, women’s soccer, and softball. In addition, Miller was a member of the English Honor Society (Sigma Tau Delta), The Catholic Student Newman’s Group, and President as well as Conference representative of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee.
“I am excited about joining the award winning Embry-Riddle SID department,” said Miller. “The athletic staff have been also been exceptionally kind and I hope to take the knowledge I learn from the staff here and apply it in the future.”
Miller, a native of Metamora, Ohio, graduated from Tri-State with a bachelor's degree in communication with an English minor.
