Emily Feeney has been named assistant sports information director at Michigan State University and began her duties at MSU July 11. She will serve as the primary media contact for volleyball and softball as well as assist in the day-to-day operations of the MSU Sports Information Office.
Feeney arrives at Michigan State from East Tennessee where she spent the past year serving as the media relations coordinator. While at ETSU, she handled the media relation duties for volleyball, women's basketball and softball and assisted with game-day operations for all of ETSU's intercollegiate athletic programs. She also worked at the 2005 NCAA Men's Basketball First and Second Rounds in, as a member of the statcrew.
The Michigan native received her bachelor's degree in sport administration from Ball State in 2003. She was a four-year letterwinner in women's soccer at State and also worked in the Athletic Communications Office.
Following graduation, she served as an intern with the Philadelphia Phillies and spent 2003-04 as an intern with Loyola (Chicago). At Loyola, she served as the media director for the 2003 Horizon League Women's Soccer Championship Tournament.
