The Southwestern Athletic Conference promoted Jennifer Huggins to assistant director of championships and hired William Bright Jr. as assistant director of media relations.
Huggins has been with the conference for three years, serving as a media relations intern for one year and media relations assistant for two years. She will assist in the planning and implementation of all SWAC championship events, assist with compliance interpretations and television programming. She will have a greater role in working with the softball coordinator of officials and will work as the direct conference liaison in the sports of softball and bowling.
Bright, who will begin his duties Aug. 1, comes to the SWAC office from Alabama A&M, where he served as sports information director. He will be the SWAC’s first full-time assistant director of media relations. He will be the primary media contact for women’s and Olympic sports, while assisting with media relations activities in all SWAC championship events.
