The University of Arkansas-Little Rock hired Joe Angolia as sports information director.
Angolia returns to the same league where he got his professional start after college. A 2002 graduate of Xavier University, he joins the Trojan Athletic Department after stints at Eastern Kentucky and Sun Belt-rival Western Kentucky University.
A native of Danville, Ky., he comes to UALR from Eastern Kentucky, where he was fortunate enough to work with two teams which advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season (volleyball and women’s basketball).
His start in sports information came at Western Kentucky, where he began as an intern in 2002 after graduating from Xavier with a bachelor of arts degree in communications and a business minor. Following his internship, Angolia was hired on as a full-time assistant in the Hilltopper athletic department.
Angolia has been a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) since 2003. His responsibilities at UALR will include serving as the primary contact for the men’s basketball, baseball, women’s soccer, golf and swimming and diving programs.
