Holleran Takes Assistant Post at Hobart and Williams Smith

The Hobart and William Smith Colleges Athletic Communications office recently hired alumnus Jack Holleran, 23, to serve as assistant director of athletic communications for the 2005-06 academic year. Holleran received his bachelor’s degree in English in May.

During his tenure at the Colleges, Holleran played for Coach Mike Cragg’s three Liberty League football championship teams between 2001 and 2004. In his senior year, Holleran led the Statesman in rushing yards (974) and rushing touchdowns (8), which earned him All-Liberty League recognition.

In the Oct. 23 contest against St. Lawrence, he rushed for a career-high 169 yards and two touchdowns in the Statesmen 21-10 victory over the Saints. His performance gained him D3football.com Team of the Week honors.

As the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications, Holleran will assist Director of Athletic Communications Ken DeBolt in the promotion of the Colleges’ 22 sports teams through team brochures and general media relations, as well as keeping statistics at athletic contests, and maintaining the Colleges’ athletic Web site.

Holleran brings his knowledge of a variety of sports and a strong understanding of the Colleges’ Athletic Communications office. In his senior year, he gained valuable experience as an intern in the Athletic Communications office.P> Holleran is a native of Sharon, Mass., and a 2000 graduate of Sharon High School. After graduating from Sharon High, Holleran benefited from a postgraduate year at Choate Rosemary Hall.
