Danah Allen has been named assistant director of athletic communications at Army. Allen spent the last year as a sports information intern at Syracuse.
Allen will be the primary athletic communications contact for volleyball, women’s basketball and golf. Additionally, Allen will work as the website liaison for www.goARMYsports.com.
While at Syracuse, Allen served as the primary contact for volleyball, women’s lacrosse, tennis and men’s rowing, and a secondary contact for men’s basketball. Allen worked at the 2005 NCAA Men’s Basketball Syracuse Regional held at the Carrier Dome.
Prior to her stint at Syracuse, Allen was a media relations assistant at Indiana University for one year, operating as the primary contact for field hockey, women’s tennis, women’s golf and rowing.
A native of Tampa, Fla., Allen got her start in sports information in her hometown with the Tampa Bay Mutiny (Major League Soccer). She held an internship position in the media relations office during the summer of 2001.
Allen served as a student assistant during the 2003 spring semester in the Auburn University Media Relations Office. Her duties at Auburn included assisting in the production of media guides, assisting with interviews and game management duties at a myriad of Auburn athletic events.
Allen graduated from Auburn University in Auburn, Ala., in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications.
