IU Southeast Names Glover SID

IU Southeast Director of Athletics Pat Mrozowski recently announced the
hiring of Joe Glover as the new sports information director. Glover, who
assumed his new position July 1, will handle media relations and other
assigned athletic department responsibilities. He comes to IU Southeast
from the University of Louisville, where he served as a student assistant
for Sports Information.

Glover was born and raised in New Albany and has a strong background in
athletics on many different levels. He was a play-by-play announcer for
New Albany High School’s WNAS-FM for three years and currently works for
Louisville’s ESPN Radio-WSZ The Sports Zone.

Through these experiences, Glover says he has a “real advantage of knowing
what media members need and expect from a first class university and
athletic program such as the one at IU Southeast.”

Mrozowski is excited by the distinctive background Glover brings to the
athletic department. “Joe is able to bring a unique perspective to the
position,” Mrozowski said. “He has a background that includes publication
and radio, and his previous work in sports information will also be an
advantage in his role with athletics at IUS.”

Glover says he enjoys getting the chance to meet and interact with the
student athletes since “they are the reason we get to enjoy our jobs and
the reason fans love to attend games.”

With much excitement about his new role at IU Southeast, Glover says he
looks forward to his years at the University. “This is a great campus
community, and our athletes are superb,” he said. “My job will be a source
of tremendous satisfaction because it will be an honor to market and
promote a university that is full of great people who are doing great
things. I am glad I am now a part of this athletic and academic family.”
