CoSIDA Membership Drive Underway

The CoSIDA Membership Services Committee has embarked on a membership drive with the goal of surpassing 2,000 members for the first time in organization history. The previous record of 1,973 was set a year ago.

Membership is more important than ever this fall as CoSIDA has moved the Academic All-America nominating and voting process to an on-line system. Only members are eligible to nominate and vote on candidates for the Academic All-America teams.

The CoSIDA Membership Services Committee has been reconfigured to include a chair in each of CoSIDA's eight districts, and a sub-committee under each chair. Starting in mid-August, e-mail blasts were sent to sports information staff who had not renewed their memberships for 2005-06 as a reminder.

The CoSIDA Membership Services Committee is also working to maintain the information in the www.cosida.com Directory. Daily transactions are being monitored by the committee and changes made to the on-line directory. Members are reminded that they can change their own individual information by using their assigned username and password and logging on to www.cosida.com.

The CoSIDA Membership Services Committee is still looking for additional members. Help is especially needed in Districts 4, 5, 6 and 8. For more information, contact committee chair Pete Moore (pimoore@syr.edu) at Syracuse University.
