Schaffer Moves to Prairie State College

Ed Schaffer, sports information director for the last five years at University of St. Francis, has announced his resignation effective this week to take a new position at Prairie State College, where he will serve as an assistant director of athletics for day-to-day operations, academic monitoring and sports information.

"We can't thank Ed enough for the tireless effort and the 70-hour work weeks he put in for our department in promoting our programs and student-athletes over the past five years," said USF director of athletics Dave Laketa. "At the same time, I am excited for him in his new venture. I know it was something that he was pursuing and he will be great at it. Prairie State is lucky to get him."

Over the past five years, USF's football media guide, written and produced by Schaffer, has been rated one of the top six guides in the nation by the NAIA Sports Information Directors Association. Included were a pair of second-place finishes and one top ranking.
