Sixty CoSIDA members and two sponsors have opened their hearts and pocketbooks to help support some 25 of their fellow members in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
The Board voted on Sept. 8 to offer financial help to the organization’s affected members, matching funds contributed by the membership at a rate of 2-1 and giving $1,500 for every $100 donated by a board member, up to a total of $50,000.
To date, eight Board members have given a total of $1,200 and 52 members have donated $4,625. CoSIDA is matching the Board’s contributions with $18,000 and the members’ monies with $9,250 for a total of $5,825 donated and $27,250 in matching funds from CoSIDA.
Additionally, two of CoSIDA’s sponsors, Warren Associates and ICS have made significant contributions.
