Satkowiak Takes Full-Time Job at Tennessee

Tom Satkowiak (pronounced sat-KO-vee-ack), a member of the Tennessee
Sports Information Department staff since August 2002, has been named an
assistant sports information director.

The Bay City, Mich., native will handle media relations for baseball while
assisting with the football operation. Satkowiak coordinates production of
football game notes, the football game program and baseball media guide,
as well as all aspects of baseball media relations.

Satkowiak performed these same duties as a graduate assistant last season
after serving as primary contact for men’s tennis the previous two years.
He also worked closely with the associate SID for men’s basketball during
the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons.

Professional honors during his Tennessee tenure include two citations for
excellence in publications and one for writing from the College Sports
Information Directors of America.

Additional experience includes three years (2002-04) as a media relations
coordinator for the Knoxville Open golf tournament and a summer 2001
internship with the National Hockey League Nashville Predators.

Satkowiak has worked at Tennessee since joining the SID staff as an
undergraduate in the summer of 2002. He graduated summa cum laude from UT
in December 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in communications, then
completed his master’s degree in sports studies in May 2005. Satkowiak
previously completed his associate’s degree in journalism with honors from
Delta College in University Center, Mich.

The 25-year-old is engaged to Brooke Tilley of Athens.
