CoSIDA Scholarships Available

CoSIDA continues one of its longest awards programs in 2006-07, beginning the second quarter-century of presenting deserving students with scholarships to help maintain the future of the sports information profession.

Winners of the two Post-Graduate Scholarships will each receive $5,000 toward postgraduate studies, while two Undergraduate Scholarships each provide $2,500.

To be eligible for either award, candidates must maintain a 3.00 cumulative grade-point-average and express an interest to pursue a career in sports information.  Undergraduates must be entering their junior or senior year in the fall of 2006.

In addition, CoSIDA is continuing its Graduate Internship Grant program in 2006-07.  That ten-month, $10,000 award is designed to help understaffed (usually one-person) sports information offices in hopes of creating permanent positions in the future.

Since presenting the first Graduate Scholarship in 1981, CoSIDA has provided more than $300,000 in grants to students working in sports information offices at member institutions and conferences.
