Jarvis Named SID at Meredith College

Gregory M. Jarvis has been named the first full-time sports information director of Meredith College.
 
Jarvis has served as the interim sports information director since April 2006.  His duties include supporting six varsity sports with the following: NCAA score reporting, compiling team statistics, completing athletic event programs, web page creation/updates, participation in the Meredith College Golf Classic, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.  He will also be supporting the Office of Marketing and Communications by providing public relations duties and other support. 
   
Prior to being named to this position, Jarvis served at Meredith College as a consultant in completing documents for admission into the USA South conference and completed an athletic administration internship with Meredith as a part of a masters degree from North Carolina State University with a concentration in sports management in December 2004. He also served as an event manager and operations assistant at Campbell University and a technical coordinator/manager for the North Carolina State Volleyball team. 
 
Jarvis also gained a master's in business communications from Jones International University in May 2004 and a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in consumer studies from Virginia Tech in May 1994. 
 
Jarvis is a member of the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association, National Association of Athletic Development Directors, and National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.
