Hood Colleges Marketing and Communications Office and Athletics Department recently announced the hiring of a new sports information director.
Adrienne Gonzales, a 1997 graduate of Hollins University in Roanoke, Va., will take over the responsibilities of managing all media relations for Hoods 19 womens and mens varsity athletics teams, as well as their players and coaches, and will also maintain statistical and historical records of athletics events and athletes.
As Hoods SID, Gonzales will gather and disseminate the Colleges sports information and, by maintaining regular contact with Hoods intercollegiate teams and coaches, will provide information to the Hood campus, the public and the media.
Gonzales most recently served as assistant director of athletic communications at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y. She has worked in sports information at Manhattan College, and St. Johns (N.Y.), West Virginia and Towson universities. Most recently, she assisted the Baltimore Ravens as a public relations assistant on game days.
