Ball State AddsTwo New Staffers

The Ball State athletics communications and marketing staff has added two assistant directors to replace Michelle Johnson and Kathy Muffenbier, who resigned this past summer.

 

Paula Haughn and Matt McCollester have been named assistant directors of athletics communications and marketing at Ball State.

   

Haughn is a 2001 graduate of Ball State University plus graduated from Yorktown High School in Muncie.  She spent from 1998-2001 as a student assistant in the Ball State mens basketball and athletics communications and marketing offices.  For the last three years, Haughn has served as an assistant sports information director at Western Michigan.  Prior to that, Haughn spent the 2002-03 academic year as an intern in the media relations office at New Mexico State.

   

McCollester is a 2003 graduate of Slippery Rock, where he served as a sports promotion and information intern from 2001-03.  He served as an athletics communications intern at Harvard from July of 2003 through December of 2003, and then was named an assistant media relations director at Arkansas State. 

For the last three years at Arkansas State, McCollester was the primary contact for womens basketball, baseball, womens volleyball and womens soccer.  He is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-America Committee and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

   

In addition, Tyson Mathews, a 2006 graduate of Ball State, and Kit Stetzel, a 2006 graduate of Indiana University, have been added as graduate assistants.
