Sarah Meier, the sports information director at Fort Lewis College, is moving up to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Meier, who has been at Fort Lewis for four years, this week was named the director of media relations for the RMAC.
She will start her new conference position in Colorado Springs in early April.
Meier replaces Eric Danner, who was named RMAC assistant commissioner for communications and external affairs in January.
Meier will be the primary media contact for the RMAC's 19 championship sports.
"We're very lucky to get someone with Sarah's qualifications," said RMAC Commissioner Joel R. Smith.
"After being in the conference for four years, she's already familiar with all of our institutions and many of our sports," Smith said. "Her presence in our office will help us to continue making strides as the premier conference in Division II."
Meier took over as sports information director at Fort Lewis College in 2002. She is a graduate of St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, where she was an all-conference basketball player and team captain.
She received her bachelor of science degree in mass communications and her master of science degree in sports administration, both from St. Cloud.
She worked as a graduate assistant with the St. Cloud athletic media relations division. She also worked as a sports staff member for the St. Cloud Times before taking over at Fort Lewis College.
