Tuesday, April 11, represents a milestone birthday for one of CoSIDA's long-standing members. Nick Vista, a fixture in the Michigan State sports information office for decades, is celebrating his 80th.
Vista, who served as CoSIDA President in 1981-82, now resides in Tucker, Ga. He was inducted into the CoSIDA Hall of Fame with Nebraska's Don Bryant in 1975. Ten years later, in 1985, Vista was presented with the Arch Ward Award. In 1995, he and Notre Dame's Roger Valdeserri received the Lester Jordan Award.
He was part of a Hall-of-Fame staff at Michigan State than included Fred Stabley, Sr., part of the original class of inductees in 1969.
Vista continues to be a fixture at CoSIDA Conventions, including last year's workshop in Philadelphia.
