Zach Fisher has joined the Utah State Athletic Media Relations office as an assistant director and began work at the University on April 17. Fisher spent the past three years as the media relations director at West Texas A&M.
Fisher, who is a Billings, Mont. native and is a 2001 graduate of Carroll (Mont.) College, also worked as an assistant at Pittsburg (Kan.) State for two years before0 taking over the office at West Texas A&M.
While at West Texas A&M, he received nine national awards from the College Sports Information Directors of America, including three "Best In The Nation" awards for his volleyball, men's soccer and women's soccer media guides in 2004.
Earlier this spring, Fisher successfully placed one of West Texas A&M's student-athletes in the Faces In The Crowd section of Sports Illustrated magazine.
At Utah State, Fisher will oversee publicity for the women's soccer and women's basketball programs, while assisting with football. He will also be involved with a number of other USU sports and assist with the department's Web site among other duties.
Fisher replaced Todd Johnson, who left the department to work for a business in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
